An open range zoo in South Australia has welcomed a brand-new, adorable zebra foal to its wild family.
The ten-day-old foal is settling in to life at Monarto Zoo under the watchful eye of mum Thembela.
Zoo keepers are keeping their distance during this time, and are currently unsure if it is a boy or a girl.
“The foal is looking really strong and healthy so that’s excellent news,” zookeeper Haidee Kinter said.
The new baby zebra might be well-guarded by its mum, but Ms Kinter says visitors should still be able to catch a glimpse of the “cutie”.
Monarto Zoo has also recently welcomed two Scimitar-horned Oryx calves, which are classified as extinct in the wild.
Two giraffe calves and a chimp baby are also expected in the busy spring period.
